Billing Settings

Required permission: billing.write (Billing Admin group)

Billing Settings controls the financial parameters of the platform. Changes take effect immediately for new transactions — they do not retroactively affect existing sessions or subscriptions.

Service Charge

The platform's percentage fee deducted from each notarisation session fee before the notary receives their payout.

• Displayed as a percentage (e.g. 10%)
• Applied to the gross session fee
• VAT is calculated on the service charge, not the full session fee

Changing the service charge affects all future sessions. Communicate changes to notaries in advance.

VAT Rate

The VAT percentage applied to the platform service charge.

• Current rate: 7.5% (Nigeria standard rate as of 2026)
• Only update this if the statutory rate changes

Payout Settings

Setting	Description
Payout threshold	Minimum notary earnings balance before an automatic payout is triggered
Payout schedule	How often automatic payouts run (e.g. weekly, bi-weekly)

All changes to billing settings are recorded in the audit log under admin.settings.changed. Include a note with the reason for any change.
